Yeast protein with a very mild aroma, containing all essential amino acids and branched-chain amino acids. It is a source of high-quality vegan protein, gluten-free, allergen-free, and GMO-free. Proteins are an important macronutrient in the diet, providing nitrogen and amino acids that play a role in the synthesis of muscles, hormones, enzymes, and other vital structural and functional components of the body.

Protein-rich animal-based foods—meat, dairy, and eggs—are the primary source of protein for many populations. However, high consumption of animal-based protein-rich products (e.g., beef, pork, lamb) has negative impacts on both health and the environment. Additionally, the growing global demand for protein has made meat consumption an unsustainable practice.

Shifting to a more sustainable diet is a way to reduce environmental impact while also providing health benefits to the consumer.

Yeasts are microbes, and as single-cell protein (SCP), they rely on fermentation technology. From a food supply perspective, in the context of food security, yeast protein is a very promising alternative protein because its production is independent of seasonality and can be achieved in a relatively short time. Fermentation can be seen as a new form of agriculture.

Yeast is also a good source for SCP production due to its superior nutritional quality. SCP production in controlled systems known as "bioreactors" is receiving increasing attention from both research and industry. Single-cell protein has low land-use requirements and does not directly compete with plant-based food products.

Yeast protein is a complete protein.

A complete protein, by definition, contains all essential amino acids (EAAs), plus branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs). There are nine EAAs, including: histidine, isoleucine, leucine, lysine, methionine, phenylalanine, threonine, tryptophan, and valine. Complete proteins are typically from animal-based foods, with soy being a plant-based exception.

Some EAAs can be found in plant proteins, but except for soy, these are usually incomplete proteins.

Our yeast protein is a complete, non-animal protein containing all EAAs and BCAAs. Unlike soy, it does not cause allergies.

Essential Amino Acids (EAAs)

These are amino acids that humans and other vertebrates cannot synthesize from metabolic intermediates and therefore must be obtained through food.

Without EAAs, food is considered nutritionally incomplete. Prolonged intake of foods lacking EAAs can ultimately lead to malnutrition, resulting in deteriorating health and associated complications.

Branched-Chain Amino Acids (BCAAs)

BCAAs are essential amino acids synthesized in bacteria, plants, and fungi, but not in animals. They include isoleucine, leucine, and valine.

The dietary intake of protein is the only significant source of BCAAs. They are important not only for proper nutrition but also for stimulating protein synthesis and building muscle, as they contribute to anabolism.

MINIMUM 80% PROTEIN from baker’s yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae)

Protein concentration is an important consideration when formulating plant-based foods, as non-animal protein sources often provide less protein per gram than animal proteins. A highly concentrated protein makes it easier to reach the desired protein content with a single ingredient. The higher the protein concentration, the more flexibility it offers to developers by reducing the impact of that one ingredient on the final formulation.

NON-ANIMAL SOURCE for vegetarian and vegan diets

Animal-based protein-rich foods, including meat, dairy, and eggs, are the primary protein source for many populations. Transitioning to a more sustainable protein diet is a way to reduce environmental impact while providing health benefits to consumers.

COMPLETE PROTEIN including branched-chain amino acids

Complete protein contains all essential amino acids (EAAs), including branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs). Complete proteins are typically derived from animal-based foods, while soy is a plant-based exception. Yeast protein is a complete, non-animal protein containing all EAAs and BCAAs, and it does not cause allergies.

SUSTAINABLE PROTEIN is a global need

The relative carbon footprint of yeast protein is significantly lower than that of beef, pork, soy protein concentrate, and pea protein concentrate. The relative land use for yeast protein is incomparable to the yield and production of both animal and plant proteins.

VERY MILD TASTE for savory and sweet applications

The very mild flavor of yeast protein makes it highly adaptable to a wide range of dietary supplements and food applications, including drink mixes, protein bars and snacks, as well as dairy and non-dairy products.

Yeast protein is suitable for use as an alternative protein source in:

  • Savory protein bars (e.g. cheese, onion, garlic flavor)
  • Sweet protein bars (e.g. salted caramel, chocolate)
  • Protein drink mixes
  • Meal replacements
  • Dairy and non-dairy applications
  • Green drink blends
  • Vegetarian or vegan protein powder blends
  • Superfood mixes
  • Protein snacks
